There has been some question and controversy in some circles regarding the need for a "brand" and a "logo" and the cost involved. "Branding" is an artistic endeavor to be sure, but there is also a complex science behind it: the science of instant communication. A comprehensive FAQ is provided to explain some of the concepts behind the process.
This city branding process is not an expenditure as much as it is an investment. Running a city and providing services costs money, especially in the early formative years we are in now. No one wants homeowners' taxes to go up. So that revenue has to be brought in through the business community. By creating a brand - an instant communication about Dunwoody that expresses how attractive it is and why others would want to do business here, the City and its partners (including the Chamber of Commerce) will bring in more money for city services than if the branding project did not happen at all. That means homeowners and residents of the City will benefit.
